An opera festival in Norfolk? This has not existed… until now. Into Opera are launching the Norfolk Into Opera Festival and bringing high quality, imaginative opera experiences to Norfolk with the aim of getting more people into opera.
Over time, we hope the Norfolk Into Opera Festival will become a growing, annual event that becomes embedded in the county. In 2019 our events will take place at the beautiful Octagon Barn in Norwich. In future years, our events will stretch county wide.

THE OCTAGON BARN
Little Plumstead
The Octagon Barn is unique and the only building of its type, unchanged from its original design. Built around the late 1600s to the early 1700s as a non-conformist Methodist meeting chapel the original 8 side shape sits under a magnificent open vaulted octagon roof, to give a grand central atrium.

For matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday please feel free to arrive early to enjoy the grounds of the Octagon Park and to bring a picnic.
HOW TO FIND THE OCTAGON BARN
Situated just 5 miles east of Norwich city centre, The Octagon Barn is easy to reach for those coming by train or taxi.

It is situated between the villages of Great and Little Plumstead, just 1 mile from the A47. After the A1042 Postwick turning take the 1st left turn on to Church Road. Follow the road and turn right after approximately 1 mile on to Water Lane, signposted Little Plumstead. At the T junction, follow the road to the right, signposted Little Plumstead Hospital, after 100m take the next left signposted ‘Octagon’.
